Four ways to tell if your home may need more or improved insulation:

Ice dams forming or snow melting on your roof

Drafty rooms or cold walls and floors in colder weather

Unusually high energy bills

Mould in the basement

Spray Foam Insulation

There are many areas of your home where air can leak in and out, creating a real cost you can see on your heating bill. Spray foam offers superior insulation which can lead to lower energy costs. Whether you’re building a new home or updating an existing one, spray foam insulation can increase your home’s energy efficiency and overall comfort and lower your energy bills.

Benefits

  • Save on energy bills
  • Higher R-value per inch than traditional fiberglass batt insulation
  • Reduce drafts and noise, and increase comfort
  • Minimize air infiltration that can generate condensation and result in mould growth
  • Impede entry of insects and pests
  • Qualify for rebates and tax credits

Spray foam is a two-component medium density polyurethane foam that is applied using a state-of-the-art polyurea proportioner, that optimizes the spray pattern and controls parameters ensuring perfect ratio consistency.

Spray foam insulation is an excellent way to save money and energy. While it is easy to do, it can be tricky to install correctly. It is best to leave it to the professionals. A spray foam professional contractor will make sure your project is done safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively, saving your time and money in the long run.

Spray foam insulation can be used in external walls, attics, crawl spaces, cathedral ceilings, and basements. It can be used in new builds as well as during renovations.

Blown-in Insulation

While any insulation is a great choice for your house, blown-in insulation has the added advantage of creating a comprehensive thermal “blanket” over all the hard-to-reach corners in your attic area. Joists, oddly-shaped corners, and even cables are no match for the small, powerful pieces of blown-in insulation for your home.

Benefits

  • While traditional fiberglass padding-style insulation may leave gaps between rolls, blown-in particulate settles into the shape of your home for a truly custom fit.
  • Made from cellulose fibers or fiberglass, it also typically contains at least partially recycled materials, making an excellent choice for the environment as well.
  • Blown-in insulation holds its loft for many years, giving you great “R-value,” a low-to-high scale that measures how well an insulation material resists the flow of heat.
  • It’s a fast, easy, and affordable way to safeguard the efficiency of your HVAC system.

Batt Insulation

When individuals hear the term “insulation”, batt insulation is usually the classic, traditional insulation material that comes to mind. Batt insulation is available in pre-cut fiberglass or mineral wool batts. Thermal batt insulation provides a high R-value and is commonly installed between a room’s exterior wall and drywall, in conjunction with a vapour barrier. Acoustical batts can be installed in interior walls and in floor assemblies to assist in providing acoustical soundproofing. Batt insulation is an economical insulation method and has been a popular choice in numerous renovation projects.

Benefits

  • Thermal batt insulation effectively reduces heat transfer, helping to maintain a comfortable indoor temperature year-round.
  • Acoustical batt insulation helps to dampen sound transmission, creating a quieter and more peaceful living environment.
  • Many batt insulation materials, such as fiberglass and mineral wool, are made from recycled or sustainable materials, reducing the demand for new resources.
  • Batt insulation is generally more affordable than other types of insulation, such as blown-in or spray foam insulation.
